Medical team examines Imran Khan at Adiala Jail; PTI rejects inspection without family and personal doctors
TheWkly Analysis
A team of doctors examined PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Sunday and left after around an hour, sources said. PTI rejected the inspection conducted without his family and personal physicians, terming it malicious. On February 12, Imran, currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, claimed his right eye had only 15 per cent vision remaining, following which the Supreme Court ordered the formation of a medical team to examine him. The Supreme Court also directed that Imran be allowed to speak to his children, with both the eye inspection and phone calls to be conducted before February 16. Government figures hinted on Saturday that Imran would soon be taken to a hospital, but no such development occurred till Sunday afternoon. At 3:45pm, Imran’s sister Noreen Khanum said on X that an ambulance has reached Adiala Jail to move Khan to a hospital, but this is unacceptable to them without further details.
