Apple Partners with Synchron on Brain Interface to Control Devices by Thought

Cupertino, California: Apple is collaborating with brain-computer interface firm Synchron to develop technology that lets users control Apple devices using thought signals. This ambitious project aims primarily to help individuals with paralysis or motor disabilities operate iPhones and more, hands-free. Synchron’s implant, inserted via blood vessels, reads neural activity and transmits commands wirelessly—an approach less invasive than open-brain surgery. Although still in early development, insiders say this step cements Apple’s growing focus on assistive health tech.
